Mixed Media"If you know exactly what you're going to do, why do it?"
~ Pablo Picasso The Technique:
Start with an image torn from a magazine, newspaper, or sketchbook - one that displays a certain facial expression or conveys an enticing emotion. Tear or burn the edges, mount on matboard or heavy card, and add 1/8" thick foamboard underneath to raise up off the backing. Trace over the image with pastel, splash it with nail varnish, wash over it with watercolour paint, then affix dried flower petals, broken glass, and a steel chain around the outside as a border. Why the steel chain? Because there aren't any cinnamon hearts left. |
